Lions pick Alabama center Parker Brailsford in latest 2025 NFL mock draft

The Detroit Lions are projected to select Alabama transfer center Parker Brailsford as the No. 30 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

That's according to a mock draft curated by The Athletic 's Nick Baumgardner, who selected the odd-numbered teams, and Scott Dochterman, who picked the even-numbered teams.

Of course, drafting 30th indicates a big season ahead for the Lions, as they fell to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship last season.

Frank Ragnow is the man in the middle for Detroit, so picking someone like Brailsford would be insurance for the future. The 6-foot-3, 290 pound lineman is ranked as the best center and interior lineman prospect in next year's draft.

He followed head coach Kalen DeBoer from Washington to Alabama this offseason. Brailsford helped the Huskies reach the National Championship last season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Brailsford finished as the second-most valuable center in the nation, according to PFF's wins above average metric. His 80.7 run-blocking grade ranked second among Power Five centers, trailing only Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson. He was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders No. 44 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Brailsford also led all FBS centers in 2023 with a 90.7 grade on zone runs.

The Lions are already ranked as the best offensive line heading into the 2024 season by PFF. Adding depth and continuing to stock talent will only make them a force for years to come.
