Christian Horner , the Team Principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing, has addressed the swirling rumors of a "crisis" within the team as they face recent performance challenges.

Following a disappointing showing at the Zandvoort race, where Red Bull struggled against McLaren, Horner discussed the team's current focus and strategies to maintain their lead in both the Constructors' and Drivers' Championships.

Horner talked about it through GP Blog :

"I think crisis is a very strong word, but I think we have to understand where we can improve the car, understand what the issues are. Obviously, Max has a very strong view on the car, and we're just matching that up with obviously the data, and then obviously addressing where we can improve.

"So, I think we're getting a better understanding of what's going on, but yes, it was an interesting first session."

Despite still holding the top position in the Constructors' Championship and Max Verstappen leading the Drivers' Championship, Red Bull has not won a Grand Prix in their last five races.

This marks a stark contrast to their earlier dominance, where they clinched victories in seven out of the first ten races of the season. With rival teams gaining momentum, the pressure on Red Bull has intensified, leading to speculation about a potential crisis.

Horner emphasized the need for the team to understand and improve the car's balance and performance.

"I would say that, of course, there's pressure from our competitors, so we have to respond to that. We're very aware of that, and I think the biggest issue is dealing with the balance that we have in the car.

He acknowledged that while there is pressure from competitors, the primary goal is to address the car's handling issues.

"If we address that, the the competitiveness will come so it’s on top of the characteristic. And once you address that, the tyre degradation is better, everything will look better. I think we're working very hard to get on top of the characteristic that we have, and hopefully making some progress."

He noted that resolving these balance problems could enhance the car's competitiveness and reduce tire degradation, ultimately improving overall performance.

As the season progresses, Red Bull remains focused on refining their strategies to regain their winning edge.

The current standings show Red Bull leading the Constructors' Championship with 434 points, followed closely by McLaren with 404 points. In the Drivers' Championship, Verstappen leads with 295 points, ahead of Lando Norris in second place with 225 points.

With the season still unfolding, Red Bull is committed to tackling their challenges head-on and striving for a return to form.
