The Los Angeles Chargers are implementing distinct game plans for each quarterback on their roster.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh has emphasized the need for tailored strategies that align with the unique strengths of each player, particularly as they navigate the challenges of the preseason.

"I'm practically going to separate those meetings and just coach them where they've got to play their game," Harbaugh said via the team's transcript . "Whether it's Easton or Taylor, we've got to have a game plan that fits them where they can go into the game and play winning football and play up to their capabilities."

"Bottom line … there's no other Justin Herbert, there's nobody that can do what he can do," Harbaugh added . "Nobody else is 6-foot-6, 240 pounds that could stand in the pocket with people draped on him and still throw a ball 40 yards down the field on a dime, as the young people call it. That's just him."

With Justin Herbert recovering from a foot injury, Easton Stick has taken the reins of the first-team offense.

However, his performance has raised concerns, as the offensive scheme seemed to mimic Herbert's style rather than play to Stick's abilities.

Recognizing this, Harbaugh is shifting gears to ensure that each quarterback can operate effectively within a system designed for their skill set.

This approach marks a departure from previous statements where all quarterbacks were held to the same standard as Herbert.

While the expectations remain high, the game plans will now be customized for Stick and newcomer Taylor Heinicke, who brings veteran experience to the team.

The Chargers recently released backups Max Duggan and Casey Bauman after they failed to meet performance expectations, highlighting the team's commitment to maintaining a competitive roster.

Adding Heinicke is seen as a significant improvement, offering a reliable backup option as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

With this new strategy in place, the Chargers aim to enhance their offensive efficiency and support their quarterbacks in achieving better results on the field.
