After dropping Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers this afternoon, the Cincinnati Reds will look to rookie Rhett Lowder to pitch on Friday evening.

Thus far this year, Lowder has thrown 108 2/3 innings across three (yes, THREE) different levels of baseball. The Reds' second-ranked prospect has been on a speedrun to Major League Baseball. He started off the year at High-A Dayton and left with a 2.84 ERA in five starts.

In Double-AA Chattanooga, he logged 16 starts and finished with a 4.31 ERA. However, over his final five starts, he managed a 0.62 ERA by allowing just two runs over 29 innings.

Then, he was moved up to Triple-A Louisville where he only pitched once. That one start was fantastic as he went six innings and allowed three runs but did not allow a run.

The Reds' lineup behind him looks to make his job as easy as possible with a little support:

    1.) DH Jonathan India
2.) SS Elly De La Cruz
    3.) C Tyler Stephenson
    4.) LF Spencer Steer
    5.) 1B Ty France
    6.) 2B Santiago Espinal
    7.) CF TJ Friedl
    8.) RF Amed Rosario
    9.) 3B Noelvi Marte
    SP Rhett Lowder

After taking the first game, the Brewers will turn to lefty DL Hall (0-1, 6.43 ERA) for the evening matchup. Hall was initially part of the Brewers' Opening Day rotation and lasted four starts before being sent down. In those four starts, he tossed 16 1/3 innings for a 7.71 ERA and 2.265 WHIP.

Then, he returned to the rotation for a matchup with the Reds back on August 11. In that start, he lasted 4 2/3 innings. The Reds scored three runs (one earned) off three walks and four hits. He did strike out nine in that short outing, however.

That start was Hall's lone appearance against the Reds in his young career.

    Milwaukee's lineup for Game 2:

    1.) 2B Brice Turang
    2.) CF Blake Perkins
    3.) DH William Contreras
    4.) 1B Jake Bauers
    5.) SS Willy Adames
    6.) RF Garrett Mitchell
    7.) 3B Andruw Monasterio
    8.) LF Sal Frelick
    9.) C Eric Haase
    SP DL Hall
