No. 4 Texas kicks off its 2024 college football season on Saturday against Colorado State at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Many fans are excited to witness the debuts of several newcomers, including key transfer additions in wide receiver Isaiah Bond and edge Trey Moore, along with true freshmen Colin Simmons and Ryan Wingo.

Considering the Longhorns open the contest as the 33-point favorite over the Rams, Texas will likely be able to get backup quarterback Arch Manning significant reps as well.

Needless to say, there's a lot to be excited for in Week 1. Former Longhorn wide receiver Jordan Whittington, who was recently selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2024 NFL Draft, is one of those looking forward to the game.

Whittington announced on Friday that he will be in Austin for Texas' season opener.

The Chargers seemingly found a diamond in the rough by selecting Whittington in the sixth round. The former Texas leader had an impressive preseason for Los Angeles hauling in 11 receptions for 126 yards.  His impressive play earned him a spot on the Rams official 53-man roster earlier this week.

Whittington concluded his five-year career at Texas with 141 receptions for 1,757 yards.
