Freshman Jayden Jackson is ready to make history with the Oklahoma Sooners

Jayden Jackson is ready for all of the training work to pay off in tonight’s opening game. Here’s Jayden’s comments from earlier this week.

On being named the starter

“It’s just an amazing opportunity that I’ve been blessed with especially being a freshman but the job is not really secure. We have a bunch of depth and a lot of guys continuously working. So it’s not there yet.”

Do you feel like you’ve had a great camp to put yourself in this position?

“I feel like I’ve had a pretty good camp, continuously working. The O-line gives their best effort every day. It’s like game day every day. Without them I wouldn’t be able to work as hard.”

On building a relationship with Damonic Williams

“Damonic just arrived and he’s like a brother to me. We eat together, room together, bleed together. That’s my brother, he’s taken me under his wing. We watch movies together. Yeah, that’s really my older brother.”
