Jalil Farooq is excited to get this season underway

Senior wide receiver Jalil Farooq spoke to the media this week ahead of the home opener tonight. Here's what's on Jalil's mind.

On his level of excitement for Friday’s matchup

“I’m truly excited. I can’t wait to get out there with my guys. We put in a lot of hard work in the summer and Spring, just ready to get out there and showcase what we’re about. I'm really excited just to have a good game with my brothers.”

On what he’s seen from Brenen Thompson

“Brenen is a guy who brings intensity to practice every day. He's one of the guys who works consistently. He continuously makes plays 24/7. I take a lot from his game. He’s super fast. In our receiver room, we have all [number] one receivers, so anybody can step up to the plate and play…”

How much do the receivers push each other since the room is so talented?

“We push each other all the time. We bring each other up, that’s our biggest thing…Nobody’s bigger than the team so if you make a mistake, own up to it and continue to get better on the next play.”
