USC football is gearing up for a challenging matchup against LSU, which will test their offensive prowess against a young defensive lineup.

Both teams are entering pivotal seasons with new defensive coordinators and a mix of fresh talent, particularly through the transfer portal.

Both teams are also trying to replace Heisman-winning quarterbacks, which is going to be challenging, even with both Miller Moss and Doug Nussmeier impressing in limited time under center.

LSU plans to field three defensive freshmen against USC's high-octane offense. Head coach Brian Kelly has indicated that defensive tackle Ahmad Breaux will see early action, while cornerback PJ Woodland and safety Dashaen Spears are also expected to contribute.

When asked about Ahmad Breaux, Brian Kelly said "he's the most ready, physically and mentally, to play for us.”

The LSU secondary, featuring several inexperienced players, could be a point of vulnerability for the Trojans.

Sophomores Ashton Stamps and Jordan Allen are stepping into significant roles, but both have limited game experience from last season. Stamps played significant snaps in just five games last season and Allen played fewer than 100 snaps all season.

On the flip side, LSU boasts a strong pass rush with players like Bradyn Swinson and Harold Perkins Jr., who combined for 46 pressures and eight sacks last year.

Freshman Da’Shawn Womack is another player to watch, having shown promise with eight pressures in limited snaps.

The matchup will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with kickoff set for Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET. LSU enters the game as a 4-point favorite at at BetOnline .
