The more we learn about the now-retired legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban, the more we realize how little we know about him as a person.

Despite no longer coaching, he has still remained a major advocate for the sport of college football. He has shown off his acting skills in various commercials, and he has put his surprisingly outgoing personality on display while working with ESPN.

Something we saw on Friday while he was making an appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show" and discussing his performance in a recent VRBO commercial . In talking about his time as a thespian, Saban brought up who appears to inspire him and who he views as his "idol." While you'd think it'd be a legendary coach or player considering his historic career, it wasn't either. Instead, it was his new co-worker.

"Pat's my idol," Saban said of Pat McAfee. "He helps me on TV, sitting next to me. I was trying to be like him on that commercial."

However, while Saban may have felt like he was giving an Oscar-worthy performance, his wife, Miss Terry, didn't think he was doing much acting at all.

“You know, the one thing Miss Terry said is I didn’t have to do any acting in that commercial," Saban told McAfee. "That’s just the kind of jerk I always am.”

McAfee, who is known for his boisterous and unfiltered commentary, and Saban, who was extremely cold as a head coach, have formed one of the most unexpected yet best duos in the media. It seems as if the two got extremely close when Saban made weekly appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show" during his final season as the Alabama head coach in 2023.

McAfee's show is in Morgantown, West Virginia, on Friday ahead of his alma mater, West Virginia's meeting against No. 8 Penn State. However, he will be by Saban's side in College Station on Saturday as ESPN's "College GameDay," will be on hand for the meeting between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Texas A&M.

The season is still young, but college football fans have to be already loving the moments we are seeing from McAfee and Saban.
