The Miami Marlins will open a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park starting on Friday night. Miami is coming off a series with the Colorado Rockies in which they earned a series split.

San Francisco has lost two games in a row and they are 5-5 in their last 10 games. They will look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they currently sit at six and a half games behind the third spot in a tight National League wild-card race.

As for pitching matchups, right-hand pitcher Adam Oller (1-1, 5.23 ERA) will pitch for the Marlins in his third start of the season. He last pitched on Aug. 25 against the Chicago Cubs, going five and two-thirds innings allowing a run on four hits, and striking out six batters. He was the winning pitcher in that game.

Oller’s counterpart will be Giants southpaw ace pitcher Blake Snell (2-3, 3.76 ERA). He will make his 16th start of the season. His last outing came against the Seattle Mariners on Aug. 24, going just three innings allowing two runs and six walks without a hit. He didn’t factor in the decision in that game.
