NFL Fans Are Saying The Same Thing About Punishment on WR Michael Thomas

Free agent NFL wide receiver Michael Thomas doesn't yet have a team for the 2024 season, but if he does sign somewhere, he won't be eligible to suit up for his first game.

According to the NFL transaction wire on Friday, August 30, the 31-year-old was suspended for one game for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the punishment "stems from his arrest in November of 2023," which resulted in two misdemeanor charges that were later dropped in March 2024.

The incident, according to NFL Media , occurred over a parking dispute between Thomas and a construction worker who had parked in front of his home.

Shortly after Rapoport confirmed the suspension on Friday, many football fans began to point out the same thing.

"How you get suspended on your season off?" one commentor wrote .

"Getting suspended on your day off," another echoed .

Someone else wrote , "He doesn't even have a team and got suspended lol on his day off.

"How he gonna not show up to a job he don’t have????" added another.

Thomas, a two-time All-Pro known for his route-running prowess, was originally drafted in the second round by the New Orleans Saints in 2016.

After four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career — including leading the NFL in receptions (149) and receiving yards (1,725) in 2019 — the former Ohio State star has struggled to stay on the field for the last four years.
