Alabama's 2024 college football season kicks off on Saturday, August 31, at 6:00 PM CST against Western Kentucky. The Crimson Tide host the Hilltoppers and are 31.5-point home favorites, according to ESPN Bet. ESPN Analytics gives Alabama a 97.4% chance to win the game.

Western Kentucky brings back solid production from last season, especially on the offensive and defensive lines. The offensive line combines for over 100 career starts, while the defensive line and secondary bring back solid production.

The Hilltoppers' offense is led by former LSU, Auburn, and Texas State quarterback TJ Finley, who had a career year in 2023 with over 3,200 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to eight interceptions.

Western Kentucky is expected to be one of the best teams in its conference this fall, with current +550 odds to win Conference USA at FanDuel Sportsbook . Last year, the Hilltoppers finished 8-5 and 5-3 in conference play, which was suitable for a fourth-place finish in the conference.

Alabama has a 3-0 record against Western Kentucky, most recently winning 38-10 in Tuscaloosa in 2016. The Crimson Tide will look to push that record to 4-0 on Saturday and kick off their season with a decisive win.
