Fever Coach Holds Back Caitlin Clark Amid Heated Exchange With WNBA Ref

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has had quite a few verbal exchanges with WNBA referees throughout her rookie season. That continued on Friday night when the Fever traveled west to take on Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.

At halftime, with Indiana in front 47-42, Clark got into another verbal altercation with a referee. As the WNBA All-Star started to raise her voice during her chat with the official, a Fever assistant coach came over and pulled Clark away.

With Clark only two technical fouls away from a suspension, which comes on the seventh tech of the season, the Fever are being extra cautious when Clark starts yapping her mouth toward an official.

Even though her coach pulled her back, WNBA fans came to Clark's defense, calling out the refs for many missed calls in the first half.

"There was like 4 kick balls that were all no calls lol," one fan said .

"It's so bad. Like, I'm so over it. The officiating is straight trash in this league!" added another .

"the kick balls are wild literally 3 obvious ones happened and they didnt call them its so frustrating," commented a third.

"they're not even calling the traveling," a fourth replied .

The Fever cannot afford to lose Clark for a game with a playoff spot on the line. They went into the Sky matchup with a 15-16 record, good for the seventh seed in the postseason. With a win, they will jump to the sixth seed, taking the Phoenix Mercury's spot. But that does not guarantee them yet a postseason appearance.
