Carmelo Anthony has made a significant revelation recently. The 10-time All-Star and 3-time Olympic gold medalist has indicated that he would be interested in owning an NBA team. And he would be open to doing it with two Miami Heat legends.

Anthony, who retired from the game in 2022 and had a Hall of Fame-level career, has opened up about his aspirations of becoming a team owner in the future.

It looks like Anthony is already working towards that goal as well. According to Josue Pavon on ClutchPoints , in a recent episode of 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony & Kid Mero , he said: "I’m out there trying to raise money now, trying to raise money with my sports fund. I’ve been traveling the world, like Japan, and this place, and that place to go fundraise.

“It’s hard to raise money, it’s hard to raise money. Most people are like you got the money, no it’s hard to raise money and getting people to understand what sports is. There’s so much money being spent on sports, and people don’t really understand it. People really don’t understand sports."

When his co-host asked Anthony how he would respond to the hypothetical opportunity of owning a team with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, he said: "I would love it, that’s how you create what they talk about generational. You get what I’m saying: that’s generational, that’s legacy if we can do that. I don’t know how I’m open. I don’t know how open they are; everybody’s in their own situation."

NBA ownership can be lucrative. Just ask Michael Jordan, who is believed to have sold his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets at a valuation of approximately $3 billion last year.

Recent statistics indicate a significant surge in the value of NBA teams, with the average team currently possessing a valuation of over $2 billion. For potential first-time owners like Anthony, this situation poses both a challenge and an opportunity. To make a substantial offer, he would have to gather a group of investors.

Anthony spent 19 seasons in the NBA with six teams. His best runs came with the Denver Nuggets, who drafted him, and the New York Knicks.

Anthony averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists over 1,260 regular-season games through the course of his career. While he was never able to win a Championship, he is still regarded as one of the best of his generation.

Will we get to see Anthony, LeBron and Wade owning a team in the future? Only time shall tell.
