Jordan Chiles Makes First Public Appearance With Simone Biles After Olympic Controversy

After the Olympic bronze medal scandal that forced her to go on a social media hiatus, Jordan Chiles made her first public appearance on Friday, August 30, along with fellow USA Gymnastics star Simone Biles.

Chiles was among those invited by the Houston Astros as they celebrated the Houston Olympians who participated in the 2024 Olympics. Biles was also in attendance at the game against the Kansas City Royals and was even given the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

According to a report from Chris Baldwin of Paper City Mag, Chiles and Biles wore matching white boots during the event. Chiles also received a huge applause from the crowd at Minute Maid Park after she was shown on the jumbotron.

It's definitely great to see Jordan Chiles trying to live her life normally after the issue she was involved in.

For those not in the know, Chiles was stripped of the bronze medal she won in the floor exercise final of the 2024 Olympics. This occurred after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) voided the inquiry that her coach, Cecile Landi, made. The said inquiry bumped Chiles from fifth to third place during the competition, with her score increasing from 13.666 to 13.766.

As a result of the ruling, however, Chiles' initial score was restored and she returned to fifth in the final standings. Romania's Ana Barbosu was elevated to a podium finish instead.

USA Gymnastics is still appealing the CAS ruling to the Swiss Federal Tribunal. As for Chiles, she's clearly trying to not let the issue bother her. She is currently preparing with Biles for their Gold Over America Tour that starts in September.

Sure enough, Chiles' attendance at the Astros game is only the first of many more expected public appearances for the young gymnast.
