Yoshinobu Yamamoto is set to make his next rehab start for the Dodgers on Tuesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The right-hander, who has been sidelined since mid-June due to a right rotator cuff strain, recently threw a bullpen session on Sunday.

“I know that he’s going to be on a plane tomorrow to Round Rock,” manager Dave Roberts confirmed on Monday.

“Talking to (Dodgers vice president of player performance) Brandon McDaniel, it went really well. So it’s going to be two innings for that OKC team.”

Yamamoto began his rehab assignment last Wednesday, where he pitched two innings, allowing one solo home run and striking out two batters while throwing 31 pitches.

"Threw well, came out of it good," Roberts said in Los Angeles on Yamamoto. "Hopefully, we can get him to three innings his next outing and then throw another one in the pen after that and then have a real conversation if it makes sense for him to join us."

He is aiming to return to the Dodgers' rotation by mid-September, but he will need a few more successful rehab outings without any setbacks before he can rejoin the team.

The 26-year-old Japanese pitcher was 6-2 with a 2.92 ERA in 14 games for the Dodgers before getting hurt. He hasn't pitched since June 15 after experiencing tightness in his triceps during a start against Kansas City.

“I think there were good things. I went through the two innings and overall I felt good,” Yamamoto said through interpreter Yoshihiro Sonoda. “First inning, I wasn’t feeling that right. But the second inning, everything was much better. There are takeaways from today’s outing.”
