Fans Roast Aidan Chiles For Viral Comment After Terrible Week 1 Performance

On Friday, Oregon State quarterback transfer Aidan Chiles made his Michigan State debut against Florida Atlantic.

While he helped secure the first win of the Jonathan Smith era in East Lansing, it was about as ugly a debut as it could be. To make matters worse, Chiles is getting roasted for comments he made earlier this week where he hinted that the Spartans would blow out the Owls.

"If you bet," Chiles said when asked about the Week 1 matchup."Take the over."

A comment that fans certainly aren't letting him forget about on social media.

"Reverse psychology clearly, he’s a sleeper agent for the books," joked one fan.

"Saying this and not being able to complete a pass over 5 yards is crazy," added another.

"That’s why you don’t talk before you play the game. There’s a thing called karma. He will learn," commented another.

For those keeping track at home, the total was under the 44.5 mark. The Spartans won 16-10, but Chiles went just 10-of-24 (41%) and threw two interceptions.

Luckily, Michigan State running back Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams picked up the slack, rushing for 101 yards and a score.

The Spartans will jump right into Big Ten play next week, as they will be taking on Maryland on the road. Chiles will likely be looking for a redemption game, both off and on the field.
