We've all been fascinated with the story of the relationship between Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and mega-star Taylor Swift over the past year. It's drawn attention to the game in ways that we've never seen before, and given us a storyline to follow through the offseason.

Now that the 2024 NFL season is less than a week away, though, it doesn't look like the Taylor Swift storyline is going to die down any time soon. We can feel confident about that after Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes claimed on Friday that the pop star has been getting super into football, and is even drawing up some plays for the offense on occasion.

Whether he was joking or not is unclear, but the idea that Swift would be helping assist  Andy Reid with the back-to-back defending champion Chiefs is comical on the surface.

Once the football public got ahold of this information, whether true or not, they had a field day with the jokes on social media. Here are some of the best that we saw on Friday.

Week 1 hasn't even arrived yet and we are already getting some wild Taylor Swift stories, so prepare yourself for what is going to come over the next several months. It may get a little bit crazy out there.
