The Wisconsin Badgers definitely had some rust to shake off in their Week 1 game against Western Michigan, but they ended up walking away with a 28-14 win.

With a couple of minutes remaining, the Broncos were looking to charge down the field and cut the lead to a touchdown. With quarterback Hayden Wolff looking to keep the game alive, he rolled out of the pocket and launched a pass down the field. The ball found Wisconsin's Xavier Lucas, who nabbed the pass out of the air with just one hand.

Fans on social media were absolutely juiced after the play.

"Put this dude at WR," one fan commented .

"nice play for a freshman," added another.

"Xavier Lucas. Remember the name," implored another.

The Badgers may have won the game by two scores, but they were trailing 14-13 at the start of the fourth. A start to the season that they will want to move on from quickly.

As for Lucas, he had quite the debut. On top of the spectacular grab for his first-career interception, Lucas was also credited with a fumble recovery and a couple of tackles. Quite the debut for the former three-star recruit out of American Heritage out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He and the Badgers will return to action next week against South Dakota.
