Caitlin Clark Clears Air on Viral Kamilla Cardoso Incident During Fever-Sky

There were more than a few noteworthy moments during Friday's showdown between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky. Ultimately, it was Caitlin Clark and company who cruised to what turned out to be an easy victory.
For their part, the Sky suffered their fifth straight loss. What makes this one sting even more is the fact that they were blown out, 100-81, on their own home floor.
Despite the lopsided nature of the contest, however, the intensity between these two sides never really died down. In fact, there was one incident during the contest where Clark appeared to have taunted Sky rookie Kamilla Cardoso after a suspected in-game exchange.
With a little over four minutes remaining in the final quarter, Clark ended up shooting an airball from beyond the arc. It appeared that Cardoso, who was the one who contested the deep ball, had something to say to the Fever star, which led to Clark pointing at the scoreboard. At that point, Chicago was down 96-71.
Clark also had a big smile on her face after shooting the airball, and you can also hear the Chicago home fans letting her have it.
After the game, Fever beat reporter Matthew Byrne of ClutchPoints asked Clark about the controversial incident. The Rookie of the Year frontrunner denied trolling Cardoso.
“Think it was a fan," Clark said. "I was just having fun with a fan. Nothing to do with Kamilla. I love Kamilla. Kamilla’s awesome. But yeah, I just launched (a 3-pointer) for fun… it was a good air ball.”
Clark didn't exactly deny the trolling part, but she did make it clear that the incident did not involve Cardoso at all. As Caitlin said, she was merely "having fun with a fan."
After all the stick she received from the Sky fans throughout the contest, it isn't surprising that Clark decided to fire back with her own brand of savagery.
