Can Adoree Jackson Help Save Giants Secondary?

There's an obvious need on the New York Giants defense that hasn't really been addressed going into the 2024 season.

New York's secondary remains incredibly weak in talent despite addressing the position group over the years. Whether it's Deonte Banks in the first round of the 2023 draft, or Tyler Nubin's selection in the second round of April's draft, the Giants have tried to address their woes in the secondary.

It's also why they decided to hold a reunion for one of their better players over the last few years.

With the Giants signing Adoree Jackson off the free agent market a week before the start of the new season, New York is hoping that the veteran cornerback will be able to solve most of their secondary concerns.

There's reason to believe he could.

Jackson has been the top corner for New York in each of the last three seasons recording two interceptions. He won't be the defender taking on the top receiver matchups in each game now - that responsibility belongs to Banks.

All this being said, though, Jackson is going to be 29 years old this season. Learning a new defense under recently hired Shane Bowen means that it might take time for the veteran to get his bearings in before he gets on the field.

Whatever the case, Jackson provides necessary veteran leadership to a very young and inexperienced group.
