Caitlin Clark's Boyfriend Reacts to LeBron James' Message to Fever Star

The Indiana Fever won their third consecutive game with a dominant 100-81 win over the Chicago Sky on August 30. Fever guard Caitlin Clark went off against her former college rival, Sky forward Angel Reese, at Winrust Arena.

Clark put up a career-high 31 points, 12 assists, and 4 rebounds. She became the first player in WNBA history to record her third game in a single season with 25+ points and 10+ assists. While Reese recorded her 23rd double-double on the season, the most by any rookie, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James only gave one shout out after the game.

James posted, "CAITLIN CLARK!!!!! HI HATERS," which caught the attention of Connor McCaffery, Clark's boyfriend.

McCaffery, who also played basketball at Iowa and works as an assistant for the Indiana Pacers, saw James' message in a repost on Instagram, and gave it a like. James, a 20-time NBA All-Star and four-time NBA champion also reposted a highlight video of Clark's performance against the Sky.

Clark and the Fever (16-16) finished their series against Reese and the Sky 3-1 this season, and moved up to the 6th seed after Friday night's win. Amid the debate over which woman should win Rookie of the Year, the competition is finished according to former ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III.

RGIII posted a lengthy message that read in part, "Caitlin Clark just won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award after tonight’s performance. Until tonight, the debate boiled down to whether you value rebounds and double doubles or points and assists more because Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese play DIFFERENT POSITIONS and are both balling. But I will say the quiet part out loud.

"Angel Reese is a special player, but Caitlin Clark has earned the award. The Indiana Fever are a dangerous team heading into the playoffs and Caitlin Clark has earned your respect. Stop denying the truth."

Next up for Clark and the Fever, a matchup against the Dallas Wings on September 1.
