Tim Tebow is one of the best quarterbacks in Florida Gators' history. He won the Heisman in 2007. From 2006-09, he had 9,285 passing yards, 88 passing touchdowns, 57 rushing touchdowns, and just 16 interceptions.

Tebow's Gators have an important matchup in Week 1. For the first time since 2019, they will face in-state rivals the Miami Hurricanes. Tebow spoke on "SEC Nation" about what Florida needs to do to beat the 19th-ranked Hurricanes.

The former Florida quarterback stressed the importance of starting the game strongly and called on Florida fans to boost the team's energy in Gainesville. Tebow was confident that Florida had some quality players but wanted the team to play as a unit, not just some individuals.

"...Florida needs to be aggressive early, and I think they will be aggressive," Tebow said. "...If Florida's crowd can take over, if they can build a little momentum. They've got the pieces and the playmakers, but can they really come together to be a team? Not just a bunch of individuals wearing the same jersey."

Florida won the last time it played Miami in 2019. That game was on the road, and the Gators won 24-20.

The Gators return talent like quarterback Graham Mertz, running back Montrell Johnson Jr., safety Jordan Castell, and receiver Trey Wilson III.

Billy Napier has yet to have a winning season as the head coach in Gainesville. Beating Miami in Week 1 would be a big step in the right direction.

Kickoff from Gainesville is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
