Could Knicks Trade for Walker Kessler?

The New York Knicks' center position is the one part of the team that could use a bit of work, and they could improve it with a trade.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz , he lists who he thinks should be every NBA team's top three trade targets. One of the players he lists for the Knicks is Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony-Towns, but a more realistic option could be Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler.

"Kessler is a completely different player than Towns and will never come close to reaching his offensive talent level, although he's also making $46.3 million less than the four-time All-Star and is the better defender," Swartz writes.

The Knicks have reportedly had talks with the Jazz about trading for the young center, and those talks could be revisited if New York wants to make a move.

Kessler averaged eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocks per game mostly coming off the bench for the Jazz this past season. Considering how defensive-minded Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is, Kessler could be a good fit with the presence he brings in the middle.

If the Knicks decide they want to make a move and get more depth at the center position, Kessler could be a very intriguing option.
