Angel Reese's Old Tweets on LeBron James Resurface as Lakers Star Celebrates Caitlin Clark

The game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever on Friday night was pretty massive, for reasons more important than just the standings.

With Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark squaring off yet again, it provided a great platform for the ongoing Rookie of the Year debate between the two. The Fever ended up winning the game in a 100-81 blowout, and Clark certainly stole the show with 31 points, 12 assists, as 4 rebounds.

Reese got her double-double, but she wasn't nearly as impressive as Clark, with only 10 points and 11 rebounds.

After the game, a lot of the conversation in the WNBA world centered around the ROY debate, and how Clark is the clear winner. One of the biggest contributors to that conversation was Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who greeted all of the people who had been down on the former Iowa Hawkeyes with four words: "CAITLIN CLARK!!!! HI HATERS"

Is there a reason that LeBron is so staunchly behind Clark? That's a question that some are starting to have after his strong words, and it might be due to some anti-LeBron tweets that Angel Reese had a few years ago that are coming to the surface.

Back in June of 2021, not long after King James and the Lakers lost their first-round playoff series to the Phoenix Suns, the narrative was that LeBron didn't have enough help to win on his team. Reese responded to someone saying this on Twitter, mocking the notion.

Did LeBron get reminded of Reese's old opinion and channel that into some love for Clark? We don't know for sure, but that certainly seems like it could be what happened after Friday night's game.
