What is Mikal Bridges' Ceiling This Season?

    By Jonah Morgan,

The New York Knicks made one of, if not the biggest move of the offseason when they traded five first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges. This move propels the Knicks to have one of the best lineups in the entire NBA.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley , he predicts the ceiling and floor for some of the New York Knicks' biggest stars. For Bridges, he thinks that he could do well in his new role, raising his shooting rates and earning his first ever All-Star invitation.

"If he fits as well as New York thinks he can, he could raise the defense to an elite level while choosing his offensive spots and making a serious push for a 50/40/90 shooting slash," Buckley writes. "The Knicks could be good enough that it's obvious they need multiple All-Stars, and a defensively dominant, offensively efficient Bridges can get the nod."

He also predicts that Bridges' minutes per game could skyrocket, which is a fair assumption considering Tom Thibodeau is his new head coach. But if there is one person that can handle a heavy workload, it is Bridges.

He is known for his consistency and his ability to stay on the court, as he has not missed a game since he committed to play college basketball at Villanova. His ability to play both on and off the ball could let the Knicks use him in a variety of different ways, therefore keeping him on the floor longer.

If Bridges can meet the expectations that many have for him this season and get his first All-Star nod, he could put the Knicks in great position to contend with the likes of the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference.
