Shaquil Barrett Reveals How Bucs Stopped Chiefs in Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs have built a dynasty with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in the center, and head coach Andy Reid at the helm.

The only team that has been able to stop the Chiefs in the big game when Mahomes is under center was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in Super Bowl LV. On a recent episode of the Up & Adams Show , former Bucs linebacker Shaquil Barrett talked about how the team was able to slow down the Chiefs.

"We had a great game plan, we had two linebackers who were able to manage Kelce for the most part... The back end was able to focus on Tyreek. Then, up front we were ready to feast," Barrett said. "Having people back in the back end allows us to get there and gives us time to get there. That was what did it for us."

The Chiefs had one of, if not the best offense in the league back in 2021, as they had the best tight end in the league, as well as one of the best wide receivers.

Mahomes threw for 270 yards in the team, but he threw two interceptions, one to Antoine Winfield Jr., and one to Devin White. The Buccaneers also tallied up three sacks in the game, which is not bad considering how evasive Mahomes can be.

If it weren't for the Bucs, the Chiefs would have four Super Bowls in the last five seasons, but they will be looking to win another this season.
