WATCH: Nick Saban and Mike Elko Have Hilarious GameDay Interaction

The Texas A&M Aggies hosted College GameDay on Saturday morning as they get set to bring the top-ten Notre Dame Fighting Irish into Kyle Field under the lights.

Not many know better than Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide just how hard it is to go into a night game in College Station and come away with a win. Last time Alabama faced the Aggies on the road at night in 2021, A&M came away with a 41-38 victory in what was the first time that Saban had ever lost to a former assistant in his career.

The defensive coordinator for the Aggies that night was of course Mike Elko, and with Saban now retired and on the GameDay crew, the pair recounted the game in which Elko's defense gave eventual Heisman winner Bryce Young so many problems.

"The last time we played here at night, which was three years ago, y'all beat us," Saban said and was met by a loud cheer from the crowd. "After winning 19 games in a row, Bryce Young was so confused by your pressures, that we had no chance."

"I'm going to take that one and run, coach," Elko said.

Elko will hope that he can cause his former quarterback, Duke transfer Riley Leonard, similar sets of problems tonight. He has the defensive front to do just that as the Irish enter the game with injuries along their offensive line.

Everything is lining up for it to be a long night for Leonard and the Irish if the Aggies can bring their A-Game.
