Georgia Fans Heated After Shaky First Half Against Clemson

Arguably the top matchup of Week 1 college football action, Georgia-Clemson is a defensive battle at the half with UGA leading 6-0 thanks to a pair of first half field goals.

The game hasn't gone the way Bulldog fans would have liked thus far. Calls for replacing second-year offensive coordinator Mike Bobo have already been issued after just 30 minutes of action. Clemson's defense has held Georgia and Heisman Trophy hopeful Carson Beck to just 160 total yards, including only 34 yards on the ground.

UGA faithful are also missing former stars Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, who always seemed to make a play when Georgia needed it most.

Georgia fans are used to winning and winning big. The Bulldogs haven't lost a season opener under Kirby Smart (8-0) and haven't lost a single regular-season game since the 2020 season.

Fans are reacting to the sluggish start accordingly.

"Need to make some offensive halftime adjustments," a fan tweeted. "Defense looks good. Liking some of the freshmen talent. And god, I miss Bowers and McConkey."

Beck isn't safe from criticism, either.

"Beck looks shaky under pressure," another fan responded.

'We missing elite players on offense," a user wrote.

There is still some hope, though, as the Bulldogs get set for the second half.

"Early starts ain’t our thang," a fan wrote."Keep hitting it Dawgs."

The game is live right now on ABC.
