College Football Team Scores Touchdown In Unconventional Way

College football fans have already seen just how unpredictable the sport can be. In Week Zero, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets upset the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles in Dublin, Ireland. This snapped Georgia Tech's 15-game losing streak against top-10 teams.

Another odd thing happened in Week 1 during the game between the Kent State Golden Flashes and the Pittsburgh Panthers. Pittsburgh took a comfortable lead in the first half against Kent State. The Panther defense stopped the Kent State offense, and the Golden Flashes punted.

Pittsburgh almost blocked the punt, but that was not the best part of the play. Wide receiver Konata Mumpfield fielded the punt after letting it bounce but was hit and fumbled. Kent State cornerback Naim Muhammed then caught the ball out of the air after the hit and took it back for a touchdown. It was one of the wildest ways to score you will ever see.

Muhammad started his college career for the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2019. The Week 1 score was the first time he found the endzone in his career.

Kent State had a terrible season last year. The Golden Flashes only won one game and finished last place in the MAC. Their only win came against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils, who play in the FCS.

The Panthers did not have a particularly good season in 2023, either. Pittsburgh missed a bowl game after finishing 3-9 in the regular season.

Either way, fans were treated to one of the most unique touchdowns of the season.
