Mets Look to Gain Ground in Playoff Chase With Win on Saturday

The New York Mets (71-64) sit just three games back from the third Wild Card berth with only 27 games remaining. After earning a victory over the Chicago White Sox (31-105) on Friday, the Mets look to clinch the series with another victory on Saturday.

The Mets will turn to veteran Jose Quintana (6-9, 4.36 ERA) on Saturday. In his last start, Quintana allowed no earned runs on four hits and two walks with no strikeouts through 6 1/3 innings. After a July that saw Quintana put up a 2.05 ERA, August has been a struggle for the veteran. He has pitched to a 6.33 ERA across 27 innings in five starts.
