After a stalled first drive, the Texas Longhorns marched down the field in the middle of the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead on Colorado State in Week 1.

While Texas suffered two devastating season-ending injuries to the running back room during fall camp in CJ Baxter and Christian Clark, the Longhorns have several playmakers on the roster ready to step up.

Although Jaydon Blue is now Texas' No. 1 running back, backups Tre Wisner and Jerrick Gibson are now in line for significant playing time. To open the season, it was Wisner to put the first points on the board for Texas.

On first-and-goal with nine minutes left in the first quarter, Wisner took the handoff into the endzone for a 3-yard rushing touchdown. The Texas offensive line opened up an impressive hole for him to nearly go untouched.

The Longhorns currently lead the Rams 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. It's not the fast start Steve Sarkisian's squad would have hoped, but first-game nerves are always a possibility to open the season.
