Florida senior defensive lineman Desmond Watson doesn't have to do much to make a big impression.

Watson is the starting nose tackle for the Gators and some pregame footage of the 6-foot-5, 449-pound big man warming up prior to Flordia's matchup with Miami had fans in awe.

"He needs 3 numbers for that jersey," one fan wrote .

Watson does wear a curious number for a defensive lineman. He said the No. 21 is in honor of his younger brother, who suffered a stroke when he was younger.

"He wore 21,'' Watson said in 2022 . "He comes to most of my games. Whenever he sees me in uniform with No. 21 on, he lights up a lot. He really, really likes that."

Watson is clearly a run-stuffer. He has 43 tackles over 38 career games with Florida, including three tackles for loss. The thought of trying to block someone of Watson's immense 450-pound frame left many baffled.

"That dude is a mid sized sedan wth," another fan said .

Watson actually lost weight this offseason and focused on his conditioning, per head coach Billy Napier.

"He's had a good offseason," Napier told 24/7 Sports . "He's lost a significant amount of weight. His body composition has changed in a drastic way. He's moving around better. He's in condition, football condition."

Watson was a 3-star recruit out of Armwood High School in Florida. Other elite programs offered him, including Alabama and Georgia. He chose to stay with his hometown Gators.
