Did Ex Russell Wilson Teammate Take a Shot at Steelers' QB?

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson’s arrival in Denver two seasons go was met with a mixed reaction. Immediately prima donna rumors started leaking out of the building.

His exit from Denver wasn’t just a friendly departure either. The Broncos selected quarterback Bo Nix out of Oregon with the No. 12 overall pick in this year’s draft.

Offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey was asked about Nix being named the starting quarterback, and seemingly took a shot at Wilson in the process.

“Bo has come and be authentically himself, and I think that’s all you can ask for him," McGlinchey said . "He doesn’t have to be somebody that he’s not, just because he’s the superstar quarterback of an NFL franchise.”

It certainly seems like a shot at the Steelers quarterback if you take everything in context. There is certainly animosity between the Broncos and Wilson and coach Sean Payton’s verbal shots at Wilson may have made it OK for players to take some of their own.

Payton disliked Wilson so much that the franchise ate $85 million in cap space this year just to get rid of him.

It’s worth noting that Wilson and the Steelers travel to Denver to take on the Broncos in Week 2. It will be interesting to see who has the last laugh.
