'Wherever You Are!' Jets' Aaron Rodgers Roasted By Ex Teammate

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent the first 18 years of his future Pro Football Hall of Fame career playing for the Green Bay Packers. For ten of those years, he played with linebacker Clay Matthews.

Matthews was recently inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame. During his speech, he thanked a lot of coaches and players who helped him along the way. While thanking former teammates who showed up for the event, he couldn’t help but crack a joke at his former teammate's expense.

"Unfortunately, Aaron couldn't be here today and rightfully so,” Matthews said. “But he did text me early today that he was going to lock himself in a dark closet, sip on some ayahuasca, and join us in spirit. So, thank you Aaron... wherever you are."

Of course, laughter filled the room and to make the joke even funnier, Matthews looked around in the air when he said the final words.

While on the surface this could seem like he is taking a shot at Rodgers, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Rodgers fiercely defended Matthews and was incredibly upset with the Packers for not extending his contract and letting him walk away.

The two are still very good friends today, and we are sure that even Rodgers laughed at his joke.

But that doesn’t make it any less funny.
