Angel Reese Under Fire Over Viral Caitlin Clark Accusation

Friday's highly-anticipated showdown between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky was billed as a clash between rookie sensations Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

Clark, the current frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award, stepped up to the plate in a major way, finishing with a career-high 31 points, four rebounds, 12 assists and five triples. Reese, on the other hand, wasn't bad herself, dropping a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double.

The problem for Reese and the Sky, however, is that they found themselves on the wrong end of a deflating blowout loss on their home floor, 100-81. Needless to say, it was not a good day at the office for Chicago, who is now in the midst of a brutal losing skid after suffering their fifth straight defeat.

There was no shortage of action during the high-stakes battle, though. At one point, Reese was caught on camera uttering what appeared to be a blunt accusation against Clark. This came as Reese was trying to calm teammate Diamond DeShields down after the latter was whistled for a foul on Clark.

Based on the video below, it seemed that Reese said that Clark "gets a different whistle."

Reese appears to have implied here that the referees give Clark special treatment and that game officials are quick on the trigger when it comes to fouls against the Fever superstar.

The fans on X, formerly Twitter, took notice of the accusation, and a lot of them were not pleased at all.

"bruh i genuinely think Angel Reese doesn’t know anything about basketball at this point🤣🤣. nobody just gets a 'different whistle', shields had MANY other options than what she did when guarding her🤣🤣" reacted a viewer.

"Angel Reese talking about special whistle. Watch all her game videos. AR - constant travel with BB and it's never called if we are going to talk about special whistle," a comment read.

"bruh she literally shoots more fts than clark lmaoooo," pointed out a reader.

"no wonder Mabrey wanted out," another said in reference to Marina Mabrey's recent trade away from Chicago.

What makes this look even worse for Reese and the Sky is that they were on the losing end of a lopsided contest. They also got absolutely torched by Caitlin Clark, too, in what turned out to be a Chicago showcase for the Fever rookie.
