San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Ricky Pearsall is reportedly in stable condition after being shot in the chest during an attempted robbery Saturday evening, but judging by the video of him after the incident, things could have been a lot worse.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter tweeted a video of Pearsall from the scene. The 23-year-old rookie gingerly walked under his own power to an ambulance before being loaded onto a gurney and put on oxygen.

He could be seen clutching the right side of his chest where the wound appears to be, which looked to be covered in blood.

Pearsall is listed in “serious but stable condition” according to a statement from the 49ers, and his shooter is in police custody.
