In the second set, TCU jumped out to a 13-9 lead but the score became tied at 15 after kills by Beason and Murray. TCU eventually pushed its lead to 22-20 but Nebraska rallied to take a 23-22 lead. Beason had another kill to put the set at set point and a violation by the Horned Frogs have the Huskers the second set 25-23 win.

Once again, TCU jumped out to an early lead in the next set, gaining a 5-1 lead. The Huskers kept coming back, drawing within one 8-7 and then ended up tying it up at 14. Murray's fifth and sixth kills of the set helped Big Red gain an 18-16 lead but TCU fought back and tied it up at 18. TCU then led 21-20 before Nebraska took a 22-21 lead. But it was the Horned Frogs that closed it out with three consecutive points to win 25-23.
