Cam Ward Offers Humiliating Advice to Florida Fans After Blowout Win

    By Kevin Borba,

The Miami Hurricanes made a statement on Saturday, August 31 with their 41-17 blowout win over in-state foe Florida.

The Hurricanes were up by two touchdowns at halftime and never looked back. It was clear that Washington State quarterback transfer Cam Ward has already taken Miami to a whole other level, and that the moment was not too big for him.

He finished the game having completed 26-of-35 passes for 385 yards and three scores.

On top of shredding the Gator defense, Ward also offered advice for the fans. Ward felt that the Florida fans were getting loud at all the wrong times, and really didn't have an impact on the Miami offense.

“If you’re gonna be loud, you have to be loud when we’re huddling,” Ward told the media. “You can’t just be loud once we break the huddle. By that time, there’s no point. We hear the play. We communicated already. It was a good atmosphere to play in. I’m just excited that we were able to get a victory.”

That wasn't the only jab he had after the game regarding the atmosphere.

Ward was asked about the environment after the game, as there was a reported 90,544 in attendance, and revealed that the iconic venue known as "The Swamp" was nothing special.

In fact, he went as far as to say that some of the Pac-12 venues he played in were louder.

“I played at USC," Ward said. "USC wasn’t packed but it was louder than this. I played at Oregon, and it was louder than this. The Pac-12 is misspoken for. The Pac-12, that’s where I believe real football is played. Washington was one of the loudest environments I played.”

For the Gators, the loss is the first of what is expected to be many for them in 2024. They play one of the most grueling schedules in college football this year, and things just haven't been going well under head coach Billy Napier.

As for Miami, they continue to make a case for being the best team in the ACC. They will host Florida A&M on Saturday, September 7, for their second game of the season.
