Can Jets Trust Nathaniel Hackett To Turn Career Around in 2024?

It really isn't uncommon for star quarterbacks to find a way to make their play-callers look better than they would have with different signal-callers.

Peyton Manning excelled with Adam Gase. Tom Brady with Josh McDaniels. Aaron Rodgers with Nathaniel Hackett.

As the New York Jets prepare for the start of the 2024 season, their reality is simple - can they trust Hackett to turn around his career with his chosen quarterback?

Hackett was brought in as a play-caller for the Jets last season but had to manage an offense without Rodgers after he tore his Achilles four plays into the season opener.

Throughout the season after Rodgers' injury, Hackett's leadership and play-calling were heavily criticized. If the Jets are going to succeed with Rodgers back, though, they'll need to trust their play-caller can save his career.

    He'll have plenty of help.

With Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, and Mike Williams, the Jets have a strong collection of skilled players across the board offensively. They also have a top offensive line thanks to additions like Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses, and Olu Fashanu.

For Hackett, the excuses have run out entering the 2024 season. He has his quarterback and a quality group of depth around him. Now, it's about calling the right plays to have this team succeed.
