Over the last week, media surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles appeared to clutch their pearls over the latest basic answer from franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Earlier in the week, Hurts spoke about how Kelce would handle all blitz pickup and changes along the offensive line and being told to let the future Hall-of-Fame center handle things in that regard.

While many media members pretended to be offended by Hurts' statement, Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni not only defended his quarterback but also agreed with him.

“Kelce handled a big portion of it,” Sirianni said. “What he said is 100 percent true.

“Ever since I’ve been here, Jalen’s been all in, trying to do everything he can to win. Every year, he’s done everything he can do to help this football team and put every bit of his heart and soul into it.”

Hurts' comments clearly were meant to illustrate the vacuum of leadership and star power that Kelce's retirement brought to the roster. With the top center now away, the Eagles will need Hurts to be the leader both on and off the field in in-game preparation and pre-play decision-making.

While most people understood that, not every media member did, and it's why Nick Sirianni's comments should quell any of those concerns.

so for 4 seasons. He didn't know how to read a defense, and you didn't help him improve that until now
