Joel Klatt Names Coach Whose Seat Is On 'Fire'

It's been a tough start to the Billy Napier era for the Florida Gators. The Gators haven't had a winning season in four years, and this season didn't start with much optimism that would change.

Florida suffered a 41-17 home defeat against their in-state rivals, the Miami Hurricanes. Miami was one of the lower-ranked teams that the Gators will face this season. They were ranked just one spot ahead of Texas A&M, who the Gators are scheduled to play in two weeks.

However, when Fox Sports' Joel Klatt listed his three most concerning teams, the Gators were not on it. That led to a fan replying and stating that Florida was an "obvious" miss by Klatt. Klatt responded by saying, "Three straight losing seasons and lost their last five...probably not concerning as much as it's on FIRE."

Klatt seems to be referring to Napier's job status and the pressure he is under. When Napier took over two seasons ago, the Gators were fresh off a losing season, and Napier has been unable to turn things around. The team has had two more losing seasons under his leadership, marking the first time in over 70 years that Florida has experienced three consecutive losing seasons.

On Friday , Florida's athletic director, Scott Stricklin, said he believes Napier is "going to be the head coach at Florida for a long, long time." However, losing to your in-state rival by 24 points in a game in which you weren't competitive for most of it is not a good start for Napier in trying to keep his job.
