The USC Trojans are celebrating a big win after defeating the LSU Tigers in a close game at a neutral site in Week 1.

The Trojans were trailing 17-13 going into the fourth quarter but managed to outscore the Tigers 14-3 in the final quarter. They secured the win with a 13-yard touchdown run in the last eight seconds of the game, bringing the final score to 27-20 in their favor.

That led to many USC and head coach Lincoln Riley supporters on social media taking shots at those who doubted the program's direction. One of those was Fox Sports radio personality Colin Cowherd.

Cowherd tweeted, "I guess Lincoln Riley can coach after all. And man, can Miller Moss play. What a first impression. Wow."

The comment appears to be mainly directed at individuals such as ESPN's Paul Finebaum. Finebaum stated that last season's coaching performance was one of the worst he had ever witnessed and that he would have fired Riley if he had been the athletic director at USC.

While Finebaum and other USC skeptics mocked Riley and the Trojans during the off-season, individuals like Cowherd seem to have the last laugh for now.
