After failing to land a roster spot with any of the 30 teams for the upcoming NBA season, free agent veteran Evan Fournier has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with Olympiacos.

According to EuroHoops.net's Aris Barkas , Fournier accepted the offer on Sept. 1, with Olympiacos now finalizing the paperwork to make it official.

Olympiacos, which has three EuroLeague titles, gets another seasoned hooper, joining the likes of fellow ex-NBA players Nigel Williams-Goss, Tyler Dorsey, Sasha Vezenkov, Kostas Papanikolaou and Filip Petrusev.

The 31-year-old Fournier split the 2023-24 NBA season with the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons. He publicly complained about his diminished role on the Knicks but coach Tom Thibodeau stayed firm on his decision.

"I want to leave," said Fournier in a report from New York Post's Zach Braziller in Sept. 2023. "But beyond leaving, I want to have the opportunity to get some playing time back. That's all. That's mostly it.

"Because in New York, I feel extremely good. I love living there, I love the franchise, I love playing at Madison (Square Garden)."

He was shipped to the Pistons at the trade deadline. He became a free agent after the team turned down his $19 million team option for 2024-25 season.

In 12 seasons in the NBA, Fournier averaged 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He also suited up for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics.

Barkas reported that Fournier has expressed in the past his intention to play for Olympiacos, a perennial contender in the EuroLeague. Last season, it finished in third place.

Fournier also helped France win a second straight silver medal in the Paris Olympics.
