Two Nebraska volleyball standouts have received conference honors after the first week of the season.

Sophomore setter Bergen Reilly was named the Big Ten’s Setter of the Week while junior middle blocker Rebekah Allick earned the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award.

It’s the first weekly honor of Allick’s career and comes after a big showing at the AVCA First Serve Showcase in Louisville, Ky., where she was named the event’s MVP and best middle blocker.

Allick racked up 12 blocks and 11 kills while hitting .667 against No. 9 Kentucky and averaged 1.9 blocks and 2.4 kills per set over Nebraska’s first three matches.

Reilly, meanwhile, earned her fifth Setter of the Week honor after leading the Huskers with 10.73 assists and 3.18 digs per set over their 3-0 start. She also had a career-high five aces, which helped Nebraska open the match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on a 10-0 run, and set the Huskers to a .286 hitting percentage in their first three wins.

The Huskers are back in action Tuesday night against SMU in Dallas. That match is set to start at 7 p.m. It will be broadcast on ACC Network and can be heard on the Huskers Radio Network.
