Bucs vs. Commanders: Which Players Will Be Most Impactful on Offense?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kick off their regular season on Sunday in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders.

Despite the Bucs having a great offseason signing all their key players, and appearing to have a solid draft, they are still being underappreciated as a team. Their first game against the Commanders is a good chance to show all the doubters they will be here to stay for a long regular-season push to the playoffs.

Here are some players on offense that will be most impactful in the game:

    QB Baker Mayfield

Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield signed a three-year, $100 million contract this past offseason and yet ... continues to be doubted. This matchup especially allows Mayfield to make a big impact on the game. The Commanders gave up the most yards (4627) and touchdowns (39) through the air last season. Look for Mayfield to have a successful day through the air and that will go a long way in determining how this game goes.

    WR Terry McLaurin

Terry McLaurin is the Commander's biggest threat on offense. It's really important the Bucs keep a lid on him and not allow him to create space. With rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels under center, "Scary Terry" could be where Daniels tries to force the ball. McLaurin has hauled in 1,000 or more receiving yards in the last four seasons and is an explosive playmaker.

    C Graham Barton

For the Buccaneers, Graham Barton needs to be a rock up front. The Bucs are going to be testing out their new run game and with the Commanders' defensive line being such a factor, Barton must be solid in pass protection and create space for the Bucs running backs.

    RB Rachaad White

As mentioned previously, the Bucs are trying to emphasize rushing the ball and establishing themselves on first down. Rachaad White will be the featured back for the Bucs on Sunday and if he can get to the second level of the Commanders defense and shake defenders, it will open up the Buccaneers offense greatly.
