The Florida State Seminoles have headlined one of the biggest storylines in college football during the 2024-25 season.

FSU headed into the season as the No. 10 team in the country. The Seminoles started the year with a couple of conference matchups, facing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Week Zero and the Boston College Eagles in Week 1.

Florida State suffered a 24-21 loss to the Yellow Jackets in Week Zero. Following that stunner in Dublin, Ireland, FSU hosted the Eagles in Week 1, falling to BC 28-13 at Doak Campbell Stadium.

After an 0-2 start to the year, Florida State's updated ESPN FPI ranking plummeted to No. 36. The Seminoles shot down 19 spots after two ACC losses, both of which they were heavy favorites in.

The Seminoles went into the season with national title hopes, despite losing some of their biggest contributors from the 2023-24 season.

They had a revamped roster, losing offensive stars like Jordan Travis, Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, and Trey Benson to the NFL. FSU is also playing without their star-studded defensive tandem in Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, who were also selected in the 2024 NFL draft.

With quarterback DJ Uiagalelei heading the Seminoles, Florida State's offense has been substandard, to say the least. In the loss to BC, Uiagalelei recorded one touchdown, one interception, and 272 yards on a 50 completion percentage.

Mike Norvell and his squad clearly have questions to answer, and it starts with the quarterback position.

They'll have a long road to get back in the top 25 rankings, but their journey will begin on Sept. 14 when the Seminoles take on the Memphis Tigers.
