    Commanders WR Named X-Factor

The Washington Commanders completely revamped their offense throughout the offseason. Of course, the biggest addition was LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels who the Commanders selected with the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft.

In his first drive of the preseason, Daniels connected on a 42-yard bomb to fourth-year receiver Dyami Brown. Selected in the third-round back in 2021, the former No. 82 overall pick out of North Carolina hasn’t really been able to produce at a high level or the Commanders.

ESPN’s Ben Solak , however, believes Brown’s time is coming. That’s why he named him this year’s X-Factor for the Commanders.

“Perhaps no incumbent Washington player will benefit more from new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury than Dyami Brown,” Solak wrote . “Kingsbury's offense needs receivers who can line up outside, get vertical and win a one-on-one against the sideline. That's Brown's bread and butter.

That was exactly what he did in the preseason game against the Jets. Daniels knew that was his strength and checked out of a receiver screen that would have been unsuccessful to hit Brown outside the numbers.

“Even better news for Brown: New quarterback Jayden Daniels relied heavily on winning isolation one-on-ones at LSU last season. If Brown can win consistently on this route, it will smooth the on-ramp for Daniels.

“As the rookie gets up to NFL speed, ensure the Commanders have a viable non-McLaurin target and create scoring opportunities via the explosive play”

With the additions of Olamide Zaccheaus and Noah Brown alongside Brown and McLaurin, it could be pick your poison for opposing defenses.

The new look Commanders offense will be on full display when they travel to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday.

Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.
