The season is barely underway, but the Miami Hurricanes are already approaching a top ten ranking.

In the latest edition of the Associated Press Poll , the Hurricanes come in as the 12th ranked team in the nation. Additionally, this ranking is the highest they have been since reaching seventh nationally in 2020.

With the ACC, reigning champions Florida States goes from 10th to unranked in the Week 2 poll following an 0-2 start to the season. The other ACC teams that are ranked include Louisville (22nd), Georgia Tech (23rd), NC State (24th) and Clemson (25th). Boston College is also one of the top others receiving votes after starting their season with a win at Florida State last night.

Looking ahead for the Hurricanes, they'll take their 12th ranking back home with them for a two-game home stretch against Florida A&M and Ball State before traveling to the west coast of the state for a showdown against USF. With big games across college football in the next two weeks, Miami has a chance to head to USF as a top ten team nationally.

In addition to blowing out the Florida Gators this past weekend, the Hurricanes are seeing a lot of respect nationally due to the play of transfer quarterback Cam Ward . Currently sitting in a tie for first for the Heisman and the fifth-best odds to be selecting first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Ward's tape from Week 1 is turning heads across the football world.

Currently the favorites to win the ACC, Miami will begin conference play on September 27th when they host Virginia Tech for a Friday night matchup.
