The Green Bay Packers were as healthy as they ever have been.

That's what Matt LaFleur said in a recent press conference.

    He was right.

All 53 players on the 53-man roster were able to practice on Monday as the team prepares for the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

That included rookie running back Marshawn Lloyd.

Lloyd has missed most of training camp this offseason with two lower-body injuries that kept him out of all but one preseason game.

He received one carry in the team's preseason opener before suffering a hamstring injury.

That was the end of Lloyd's preseason.

It’s been rough, definitely rough,” said Lloyd about being out.

“I love this game. But it’s minor little thing, minor injuries. I just know once I get past this little hump, it’s go-time. So just do the right things, take care of my body as much as possible, learning, getting some stuff from the older guys as far as how they treat their bodies and stuff like that. just learning, learning. I’ve learned the last three weeks just from different ways to treat my body. Just putting more into it. So I’m excited about it."

In the meantime, he was thrust into a larger role.

AJ Dillon, who the Packers expected to be the team's backup running back, was lost for the season with a neck injury.

After practicing back-to-back days, Lloyd was on the stationary bike as the Packers went through practice today.

Lloyd missing practice was called part of the process by Head Coach Matt LaFleur.

His role, or lack thereof is worth monitoring in Friday night's game. Josh Jacobs will be the team's primary running back, but the Packers are excited about Lloyd.

They've also preferred to use multiple backs during Matt LaFleur's tenure.

As of now, Jacobs' backup if Lloyd cannot go, will be Emanuel Wilson.

Wilson was limited in practice today, but had what was described as a good work day by Matt LaFleur.

Even if Lloyd is active, how much will he be able to handle?

“You feel like he can handle most of the playbook,” said Matt LaFleur on cutdown day. “It’s not like he hasn’t been learning. It’s just the application of taking it from the classroom and applying it in a real game setting, you wish you had a little bit more exposure.”

That exposure could come quickly on Friday night.

The rest of the Packers' injury report was as followed

    DNP: Lloyd

    Limited: Doubs, Cooper, Valentine, Wilson

The Packers fly to Brazil tomorrow morning, in advance of Friday night's season opener against the Eagles.
